The Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia is seeking a General Internist. UHNBC is located in Prince George, BC.  

The successful candidate will responsible for a full spectrum of general internal medicine in Emergency and hospital wards, and will participate in a general internal medicine call schedule. UHNBC is a general hospital with ICU/CCU. Surgical services include General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopaedics, Plastics and Urology. The department of Internal Medicine provides supervision and guidance to trainees covering CTUs.   

UHNBC is the Regional Hospital for Northern BC serving both the immediate population of Prince George (approximately 80,000) and is a referral center for outlying communities (total population approximately 300,000). It is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the Northern Medical Program of UBC and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. A Cancer Centre opened on the hospital site in the fall of 2012 which includes Radiation and Medical Oncology. The ongoing development of UHNBC as a Regional Center and teaching center makes this an exciting time to join the Medical community in Prince George.

In order to be eligible for licensure in BC, your postgraduate training must meet the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Post graduate training must be obtained from an accredited and approved training program in a jurisdiction sanctioned by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
