Consultant Community Pediatrician
IWK Health Centre/Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia
The Division of Community Pediatrics at the IWK Health Centre and Dalhousie University is seeking a Consultant Community Pediatrician to establish a full-time community-based practice in the Halifax Regional Municipality. We are seeking a Pediatrician who can function independently, who has a collaborative attitude, excellent communication and intrapersonal skills and is committed to delivering high quality, family-centered consultant general pediatric care. This position also includes membership in the Division of Community Pediatrics and an appointment with Dalhousie University, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will decide in which under-served outpatient pediatric community clinic within the Halifax Regional Municipality to establish their practice based on suggestions by the Division Head. The successful candidate will be responsible for all legal business arrangements and clinic overhead expenses.
This position will be compensated in the fee-for-service model. An estimate for typical fee-for-service annual gross billings for a full-time fee-for-service Consultant Community Pediatrician in Halifax can be provided upon request. The Community Pediatricians in Halifax are currently pursuing the possibility of an Alternative Payment Plan, so this compensation model may be a future option.
Required Qualifications Include:
A medical degree
Pediatrics Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
CMPA medical insurance coverage (or equivalent)
Eligibility for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
