The Chief of Staff is a key medical leadership role at this tertiary academic hospital. Working in collaboration with medical staff and Medical Advisory Committee, the COS has a primary focus on the quality of medical care, in addition to medical leadership mentorship and evaluation. The position works in partnership with local and IH-wide administration and the Site Medical Director.
This is a 3 day/week position for 46 weeks/year to be complemented by a clinical role and requires a minimum of 5 years
progressive leadership experience in a large community hospital or academic health sciences facility. The preferred candidate will be able to join in July and have experience in the engagement of medical staff in research and teaching.
Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is a tertiary care academic hospital within Interior Health with over 400 beds and over 86,000
ED visits yearly. The new Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC) has specialized Operating Rooms created for Cardiac,
Thoracic, Urology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Plastics, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Ears Nose and Throat, Orthopedics, General
and Trauma surgeries. Our recently opened Centennial Building boasts 360,000 square feet, an expanded emergency
and ambulatory care department and a rooftop helipad.
