Gynecologic Oncologist

At Lakeridge Health, we continue to upgrade and expand our 5 hospitals in both rural and urban settings, to provide quality, integrated patient care and treatment programs. To this end, expansion of Surgical Oncology is a major focus. Lakeridge Health, in collaboration with the RS McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre is seeking an established and energetic full-time Gynecologic Oncologist to help lead the growth of a new program which will eventually consist of four Gynecologic Oncologists. The candidate sought will demonstrate high clinical standards and a commitment to quality of healthcare delivery as well as quality improvement. Our Surgery program consists of 98 surgeons (19 Ob/Gyns), 51 anesthesiologists and 28 ORs across four sites.  The Gynecologic Oncologist we seek is a proven team builder/leader, a strong communicator and believes strongly in multidisciplinary collaborative patient care.

RS McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre is a well-integrated cancer centre that provides comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer management to a population of approximately 1.6 million people. In addition to the well-established medical and radiation oncology programs, the centre also hosts the Central East Thoracic surgical oncology program. In addition to a number of treatment modalities offered by radiation oncology, there is a strong gynecology brachytherapy program.

There is an active regional outreach program to which oncologists make a major contribution to patient care in the Peterborough, Cobourg, Lindsay, Ajax/Pickering and Scarborough areas.

The cancer centre actively participates in a high volume of Clinical trials supported by a well-established structure within our research department. Physicians participate in residency educational programs.

Lakeridge Health is a teaching site for Queen’s University and the successful applicant will be eligible for an academic appointment.
