The Department of Critical Care Medicine, at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position as full-time intensivist and Director of the Resident and Fellowship Training Program. The effective date of this appointment is January 2nd 2019.
Primary Description – The candidate must have training and clinical background in pediatric intensive care, and be eligible to work as a full-time equivalent intensivist in either the Division of Pediatric Intensive Care or the Division of Cardiac Critical Care within the Department of Critical Care Medicine. The role of Director for our Critical Care Resident and Fellowship program will require overseeing the training requirements and education as set forth for Postgraduate Medical Education at the University of Toronto for Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Our program includes up to 4 critical care residents per year in our 2-year training program, and up to 20 critical care and sub-specialty fellows in our international training program. Previous experience running a dedicated training program is required.
The successful candidate must be able to function in English and be committed to a career as an academic clinician and be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. The candidate must have an M.D. or equivalent and be eligible for specialty certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
