Ting-Yim Lee Chair, Endowed Chair in Cardiac Computerized Tomography (CT) Imaging Research

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Medical Imaging and the Department of Medicine at Western University is seeking an innovative scientist of international standing in cardiac functional and molecular imaging research with a primary focus in cardiac computed tomography (CT). The Chair is expected to bring expertise in, and undertake research related to, the development of advanced functional cardiac CT imaging techniques with a focus on advancing early diagnosis and clinical care.

Qualified applicants must hold an MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree and will be expected to maintain a successful and productive research program with the goal of improving patient health.

A successful candidate holding an M.D. or M.D./PhD will be appointed in a continuing (Clinical Academic) appointment at the level of Associate Professor or Full Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario in accordance with the appropriate licensing body and must be certified, or eligible for certification as a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be composed primarily of the following sources: fee for service, alternate funding plan, and academic support.  The candidate will have protected research time and be appointed in the Department of Medical Imaging or the Department of Medicine in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry with a potential cross appointment in an appropriate basic science department.

A successful candidate holding a PhD or equivalent advanced degree in a relevant field will be appointed in an appropriate basic science department, in a probationary (tenure-track) position at the level of Associate Professor or Full Professor (with tenure) depending on the qualifications, interests, and experience of the successful candidate, with a cross appointment in either Medical Imaging or Medicine, depending on qualifications and experience.  The Chair will have protected research time. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The LHSC Cardiac Care Program is the largest and the most established cardiac centre in Southwestern Ontario. All members of the Division are actively involved in providing inpatient and ambulatory cardiac care, providing a full range of ambulatory clinics and diagnostic cardiac services to the City of London and a population of over one million in the surrounding region. Also, London is a world class centre for medical imaging training and research with facilities spanning two organizations, three main campuses, and two research Institutes: London Health Sciences Centre including both University Hospital and Victoria Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Care London, the Lawson Health Research Institute and Robarts Research Institute.
