An opportunity exists to engage in a diverse and high-quality Urology Practice in a busy fee-for-service setting in the NE area of Saskatchewan. The Victoria Hospital serves a population of approximately 45,000 and is a referral center for the whole of Northern Saskatchewan. Other surgical services include General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics and Gynecology. There is functional 8-bed intensive care unit.

Guaranteed weekly OR access and a generous amount of procedural time in the ambulatory care and endoscopy units will be available to the successful candidate upon arrival.  There will be an opportunity to perform urology surgery laparoscopically. The program is complimented with a high-quality anesthesiology program and a day surgery unit, which has extended hours for patient recovery.

The successful candidate will join our team to provide comprehensive Urology services to the patients of North East Saskatchewan at the Victoria Hospital. This position requires a scope of practice that will include clinical practice inpatient care, outpatient care, emergency consults and specialist on-call coverage.  Elective OR runs from 0730 to 1600 hours. Call expectation is approximately 90 days. The candidate may seek academic appointment with the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will be a Fellow (or be eligible for Fellowship) with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Urology.  Candidates should be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS). Preference will be given to University of Saskatchewan graduates and individuals with strong ties to Saskatchewan. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high-volume environment with a commitment to provision of high quality patient and family-centered care. In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens or those who have Permanent Landed Resident status.
