Career Opportunity in Endocrinology

William Osler Health System (Osler) is located 40 minutes from downtown Toronto and 20 minutes from Pearson International Airport, is a multi-site hospital system serving 1.3 million people in one of the fastest-growing and most culturally-diverse regions in Ontario.  With our new 2019-24 Corporate Strategic Plan, Going Beyond for Healthier Communities as our roadmap, we are shifting traditional thinking and re-imagining health care to help people live healthier lives, reduce chronic disease and improve access to care.

At Osler, we are committed to providing safe, equitable, high-quality care in a fulfilling work environment that inspires our staff, physicians and volunteers to learn, innovate and grow. We are proud to be awarded Canada’s Best Diversity Employer award for the 9th straight year; the first hospital to reach this milestone in Canada.  We are also excited about becoming a recent member of the Schwartz Centre for Compassionate Healthcare.  At Osler, you will work alongside a highly-committed and respected team that understands what it means to go beyond to meet the health care needs of our communities.

The Division of Endocrinology is seeking 3 Full Time Associate Endocrinologists to join Osler’s Brampton site.

The successful candidates will join four other Endocrinologists in delivering full-time inpatient and outpatient endocrinology care and have access to an excellent diabetes education centre with a full range of nuclear medicine resources.  The incumbents will participate as a member of the division in providing call coverage and provide patient follow up in their community based practice located in the Brampton Etobicoke Ontario Health Team (BE OHT) catchment area.  The position requires excellent communication skills in English.  Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population.  Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.

Osler is an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program.  It also provides clinical elective opportunities to Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.  The preferred candidate would have the option to participate in teaching and seek an academic appointment with either the University of Toronto or McMaster University.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing community hospitals offering innovative research opportunities, access to cutting edge technology, and support from one of Ontario’s leading physician wellness programs.  The candidate must have a certificate of registration to practise from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have fellowship in Endocrinology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
