Urologist

The Department of Urology of Eastern Health invites expressions of interest for a full-time Urologist position at the Health Sciences Centre (HSC).

Eastern Health is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). It employs over 13,000 employees, provides services to a regional population of more than 300,000 and is responsible for provincial tertiary health services. 

The successful candidate will join a group of 7 urologists and 3 nurse practitioners at  HSC. Payment structure will be fee-for-service. The urologist will have equal access to hospital resources including clinic, day surgery, and operative time. On-call coverage is required and shared equitably within the group (1:8). 

The Health Sciences Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University. This provides the candidate with the opportunity to engage in educational experiences with both surgical residents and undergraduate medical students.  

To be considered, candidates must hold a medical degree and have certification by the Royal College Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (or equivalent) in Urology. Preference will be given to candidates with Endourology fellowship training. Advanced training in minimally invasive urologic surgery and HoLEP procedures are desired. All applicants must be eligible for licensure to practice by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and must be granted privileges by Eastern Health.
