Anaesthesia

The Department of Anaesthesia at Niagara Health seeks highly motivated physicians with a passion for providing the highest quality care.

Niagara Health is a regional healthcare provider with multiple sites and a growing network of community-based services. Our team is made up of more than 4,800 employees, 600 physicians and 850 volunteers who we count on to deliver extraordinary caring to every person, every time.

We provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services to more than 450,000 residents across Niagara, including regional anesthesia services for 20 surgical suites, endoscopy, obstetrics and chronic interventional pain management. The Anesthesia Department:

  • Supports the Anesthesia Care Team model with the assistance of AAs and enhanced care nursing
  • Provides a robust in-house CME program, research interests and simulation labs for testing and training
  • Encourages teaching and mentoring of medical students, residents, nurses, AAs and RTs
  • Ensures regional standardization with state of the art anesthesia equipment
  • Supports physicians with meeting their goals in all stages of their career, including job share and cross appointment opportunities in other departments

As a community-based academic centre, teaching and learning, research, innovation and partnership are propelling us as we imagine a healthier Niagara.

Planning is well underway to build an additional ultramodern hospital in South Niagara to provide accessible and quality healthcare to residents of the Southern Region.  Niagara Health is positioned, by virtue of its geography and regionally distributed resources, to exemplify the best of regional capacity with local service delivery.
