Canada – British Columbia – Prince George Is seeking an Infectious Diseases Specialist to provide service in Prince George, BC. The successful candidate will join a very busy consult service for hospital inpatients. 

The successful recruit to this position will be working alongside existing Internists/Infectious Disease Specialists providing inpatient consultation and participating in on-call rotation and teaching on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU). The successful candidate will assist the existing Infectious Diseases physician in a busy Infectious Diseases consultation service.  

There is ample opportunity for teaching/supervision of medical students and residents through the University of British Columbia affiliated medical school (UHNBC campus).  

The University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) is the Regional Hospital for Northern BC serving both the immediate population of Prince George (approximately 80,000) and is a referral center for outlying communities (total population approximately 300,000). It is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the Northern Medical Program of UBC and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. The BC Cancer Centre for the North opened on the hospital site in the fall of 2012. The new Cancer Centre includes Radiation and Medical Oncology. The ongoing development of UHNBC as a Regional Center and teaching center makes this an exciting time to join the Medical community in Prince George.

In order to be eligible for licensure in BC, your postgraduate training must meet the requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia. Post graduate training must be obtained from an accredited and approved training program in a jurisdiction sanctioned by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
