The Section of Neurosurgery, Department of Surgery, College of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba and the Surgery Program of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, invite applications for a Spine Fellowship trained Neurosurgeon commencing January 01, 2019 or sooner. This will be a contingent geographical full time position. Remuneration is derived from an Alternate Funding Plan and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibility and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and tertiary care medicine.

The Program incorporates a rich mix of emergent and elective neurosurgery, in a program of nine subspecialized surgeons. The Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg provides comprehensive neurosurgical care to a population base of 1.2 million people. Key features include established programs in spine surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, movement disorders and cerebrovascular surgery. A Gamma Knife, spinal SBRT facility and intraoperative iMRI suite are present on site.

Candidates must have specialty qualifications in Neurosurgery in the country of current practice, and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. Further fellowship training in spinal surgery and advanced academic degrees would be an asset.
