Executive Vice President, Medical and Clinical Programs

Scarborough and Rouge Hospital (SRH) was established on December 1, 2016, following a merger of the Birchmount and General campuses of the Scarborough Hospital and the Centenary campus of Rouge Valley Health System. These organizations have traditionally had a long history of working together to improve health care for the community they serve. This historical partnership has resulted in the integration of various regional programs. Their formal integration and the creation of the new organization will allow them to continue to be responsive to the needs of the Scarborough community and ensure that resources are used efficiently to sustain services well into the future.

At SRH, a quality patient experience comes first. Affiliated with the University of Toronto, SRH consists of three hospital sites and five satellite sites in Scarborough. SRH delivers a broad spectrum of health services to one of the most diverse communities in Canada, including a full-service Emergency Department at each site, advanced maternal and neonatal care in state-of-the-art birthing centres, and specialized paediatric services. SRH is home to a number of regional programs serving the central east Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and beyond, including nephrology, cardiac care, vascular surgery, and vision care, and is recognized as a centre of excellence in orthopaedic surgery, cancer care, and mental health.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Vice President, Medical and Clinical Programs (EVP) is accountable to provide leadership for the Scarborough Health Network including the three hospitals and the satellite sites, for both in-patient and out-patient programs.  In addition, the EVP is responsible to provide the vision and operational leadership for the delivery of the highest quality of inter-professional care for the Family Practice and Primary Care and Ambulatory Care and Clinics.  The new EVP will help to drive organizational strategy to optimally integrate with other health system providers and key stakeholders, in the interest of building enhanced quality and seamless system capability.  The EVP will work as a collaborator with the entire Senior Leadership Team to bring leadership and strategic direction to the delivery of healthcare services in an interprofessional health care environment.

The EVP will possess a Medical Degree and be certified, in good standing, to practice in the Province of Ontario, as well as additional academic preparation at the Masters level in a business or health-related field.  She/he will have demonstrated a visionary leadership style through progressively senior leadership roles, a passion for the delivery of the highest quality of patient care, a collaborative and transparent orientation and a belief that organizations can only be successful through the development of its people.
