Permanent Full-Time Academic Position

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

The Department of Diagnostic Radiology within the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University and its affiliated teaching hospitals are seeking a full-time Academic Radiologist with Fellowship training in Pediatric Imaging. The candidate must have completed fellowship training in General Pediatric Radiology and Pediatric Neuroradiology with expertise in a focused and diverse diagnostic skillset appropriate for our dynamic practice. Building on a strong research and teaching background, the candidate will have experience in general adult imaging. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with clinicians, patients and trainees is required.

 

With the academic component of this position, there is an expectation of participation in undergraduate medical education, residency training, and research. Clinical responsibilities would include Pediatric Radiology coverage in all areas, including Plain Films Reporting, Rapid-Read ER Films Reporting, Barium Studies and General Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography Ultrasound, and MRI. Participation in the Department on-call schedule, including on-call Pediatric Radiology coverage is required.

KINGSTON HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE OVERVIEW

The Academic Radiologist will join 25 radiologists in the Department, who provide clinical service to a population of approximately 450,000 in Southeastern Ontario in two teaching hospitals, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, and Providence Care. This practice is centered Kingston Health Sciences Centre Kingston General Hospital site, a 450-bed acute care hospital. Currently, there is a 1.5T Clinical MRI scanner at Kingston General Hospital.  We are currently installing a state-of-the-art Siemens 3T VIDA MRI scanner, and will be upgrading the existing 1.5T MRI scanner.

Qualified applicants must either hold or be eligible for certification in diagnostic radiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, have undertaken fellowship training, and be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario.
