Position Profile: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) – Saskatoon and University Saskatchewan (UofS), Department of
Pediatrics of the College of Medicine seek a Medical Geneticist. The successful candidate will provide specialist consultative
services and will participate in developing and guiding strategies for improving the health and health care of Saskatchewan
adults and children. The position provides physicians with protected time for clinical, administrative and academic duties.
There is an opportunity to incorporate Metabolics services into this position, up to 0.5 FTE, dependent upon the interest of
the candidate.
We provide a wide range of genetic services for both adults and children. These services include genetic assessment, testing
and diagnosis, targeted analysis including cytogenetic, molecular and metabolic investigations. The program provides
reproductive (including preconception and prenatal), pediatric, adult and cancer genetic counselling services.
As a team, we anticipate the impact of a specific diagnosis for the family, and educate them about the results of our
investigations and possible diagnosis. We make recommendations and referrals as necessary to ensure families have access to
the most appropriate medical and social services. Genetic counsellors are available for ongoing emotional support and to
discuss family planning issues if necessary.
Employment Type: Full Time or Locum
Compensation: $391,474 ‐ $446,661 Full Time contract; competitive daily rate locum contract

Qualifications/Requirements of the position: Candidates must hold certification or be eligible for certification with the Royal
College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS).
