Salary: £88,668 per annum, pro rata (Grade: GP Educator, GP01)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Centre for Medical Education within our busy Postgraduate Dermatology Programmes team. This Moderator role provides academic support for the Centre, working closely with staff, students and external stakeholders to do so.

Key duties include delivering defined aspects of the teaching and support of learning required for one or more Module(s)/Programme(s)/course(s). Tasks will include responding to queries and comments on the discussion forums, including moderating the discussion forums and contributing to the assessment of students, carrying out teaching-related administrative duties. Teaching contributions are within a framework of an agreed programme typically overseen by an academic member of staff.

The successful applicant should have an MBBCh (or similarly equivalent healthcare qualification) and relevant professional/industrial experience, including relevant professional qualification(s). They will also have or be able to work towards Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or equivalent qualification/recognition with teaching experience at undergraduate/postgraduate level and specialist knowledge within academic subject area (Dermatology).

Excellent communication, team working and leadership skills are key to the post as are excellent IT skills. The ability to provide pastoral support to students is essential to the role.

This post is part time, 4.5 hours per week (0.12FTE) to be worked throughout the week, is fixed term until 31 August 2020 and is available from 2 September 2019.
