The Belleville General Hospital Maternal Child Unit has a 6 (up to 8) bed paediatric unit, a Level 2A NICU,
and ~1500 deliveries per year, staffed in a hospitalist model by a dynamic and supportive group of
paediatricians, committed to optimizing both clinical experience and lifestyle for each other and patients!

This group is funded through a Regional Consulting Paediatric APP model (base stipend plus percentage of billings) and has a fully operational outpatient clinic space which uses an EMR. The paediatric clinic is a shared space Consultant based practice with eight clinic rooms, located conveniently across the street from Belleville General Hospital. We provide consultative care for a wide range of general paediatric conditions, and also operate an urgent consultation clinic.  We also provide limited follow up care for some patients discharged from the NICU/paediatric ward.

In addition, some of our Paediatricians provide consultative care, though a multi-disciplinary team approach, to Quinte Children's Treatment Centre and the Regional Paediatric Diabetes clinic, offering opportunity for a wide scope and varied clinical practice.

Our hospital services are provided at QHC Belleville General Hospital, though we also provide support to other QHC hospital locations including: QHC North Hastings Hospital, QHC Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, and QHC Trenton Memorial Hospital.

Our local tertiary care facility is Kingston General Hospital, which is located only 45 minutes away and
provides excellent support with subspecialty advice easily accessible by phone and as our regional site
for NICU and step down paediatrics with CHEO as our PICU referral site.

All Paediatricians hold academic appointments with Queen’s University and have the opportunity to regularly participate in Queen’s resident and medical student training.

Quinte Health Care has 1,800 staff members and 320 medical staff who provide a wide range of high-quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents. Care is provided through four hospitals –
QHC Belleville General Hospital, QHC North Hastings Hospital, QHC Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital and QHC Trenton Memorial Hospitals – and includes four emergency departments, operating
rooms at three sites, inpatient services (including acute medicine, intensive care, obstetrics, pediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery), a rehabilitation day hospital,
children’s treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services.

The Quinte area is in south-eastern Ontario. The region offers low cost of living, affordable homes, and excellent schools as well as quality local theatre, AHL hockey, shopping and restaurants. The area
includes one of the most diverse and beautiful countryside in Ontario, from the lakes of Bancroft to wine country, picturesque towns and Sandbanks beach of Prince Edward County. Nearly all lifestyle
interests can be found within the communities served by QHC. Please contact us if you are interested in pursuing Paediatric opportunities at Quinte Health Care. We are a passionate and supportive group of
