The Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University is seeking an academic psychiatrist to join the Division of Forensic Psychiatry. The position is based at our new facility in Providence Care Hospital, with clinical responsibilities of review board patients (inpatient/outpatient) and court ordered assessments. Our forensic program is relatively small and the caseload is shared with one other forensic psychiatrist.

Applicants must display a commitment to providing exemplary clinical service within an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment. Applicants must demonstrate outstanding teaching contributions and strong interest in education of trainees and medical students is expected, as the successful candidate will participate in clinical supervision of medical students, psychiatry residents, and forensic psychiatry international fellows. Candidate will exhibit strong potential for innovative and scholarly research.

Applicants are expected to have a strong a senior academic track record and experience in forensic psychiatry.

Successful candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and preference will be given to applicants who are eligible for or have specialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Specialties.
