CLINICAL ACADEMIC POSITION – PAEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGIST

The Department of Paediatrics, Children's Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre and Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is seeking a Paediatric Gastroenterologist to join our established Division of Paediatric Gastroenterology. The Division of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology provides a comprehensive ambulatory and in-patient service to a population of about 1.5 million in southwestern Ontario.  The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has a comprehensive array of services encompassing the full spectrum of gastroenterology disorders and provides a full range of endoscopic procedures.  The Division has a dedicated Inflammatory Bowel Disease team and clinic.  The Division is supported clinically by a nurse practitioner, dietitian, clinical psychologist, and social worker.   We have a research coordinator to aid in clinical research.   The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is very active in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education.

Candidates for this position must have an MD or equivalent degree and must be eligible for licensing in the Province of Ontario.  Subspecialty certification in Paediatric Gastroenterology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent is required.  The successful candidate will hold a full-time Limited Term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, or a Continuing Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, depending upon qualifications and experience at the time of appointment.  The successful candidate will have a keen interest in academic medicine, the ability to collaborate effectively with all other members of the health care team and office staff, and will be expected to participate in team-based health care and teaching, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have experience in intestinal rehabilitation and nutrition.  

The anticipated start date for this position is November 8, 2021 although an alternative start date can be negotiated.
