POSITION SUMMARY

A community based general respirology position serving the community and region with opportunities for a focused interest in Bronchoscopy, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Sleep Medicine, and/or Critical Care.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:  

Inpatient: Consultation to OSMH credentialed staff and regional partners in Respirology and Internal Medicine, interpretation of PFTs, ECGs etc.; preference to participate in coverage of closed critical care unit with appropriate qualifications; participation and cooperation as a contributing team member of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Out-Patient: Consultative practice in Respirology serving the community and region and involvement with the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, Asthma Clinic, Sleep Lab. Must maintain community office practice.

ON-CALL:  Collaborative participation for on-call coverage will be shared with the OSMH Department of Medicine members with the potential for occasional support for Critical Care.

RESOURCES: Available outpatient clinics include an Asthma Clinic, Sleep Lab, Pulmonary Function Lab, CT and Interventional Radiology, Thoracic Surgery Clinic (in collaboration with York Thoracic Clinic) and outpatient clinic for minor procedures.

COMPENSATION: Fee for service and HOCC for on-call.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must be a licensed physician in the Province of Ontario and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Internal Medicine. Fellowship in Respirology recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or additional training in Respirology. Additional education and training in Critical Care Medicine and/or Sleep Medicine preferred.
