Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Academic General Internist

The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre are inviting applications for the position of an Academic General Internist.  This full-time appointment will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto with a position description as a Clinician in Quality Improvement (CQI) or a Clinician Teacher (CT) at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor. It is expected that the position will be approximately 60% clinical and 40% related to quality improvement or education, respectively.  Expected start date is July 1, 2022 or another mutually agreeable date thereafter.

We are seeking a physician who will deliver and foster excellence in academic general internal medicine. The successful candidate will join the Division of General Internal Medicine, which currently has 19 full time members. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in general internal medicine clinical activities in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. They will also be expected to participate in the educational activities of the Division and provide exceptional undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree, have or be eligible for certification in Internal Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have or be eligible for medical licensure in Ontario. The successful applicant will have a proven academic record of excellence in quality improvement and/or education. Advanced training in quality or innovation with evidence of scholarship (such as peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or awards) is required for a CQI position. Advanced training and demonstrated achievement in teaching and education is required for the CT position (such as a strong track record of teaching, awards, or education scholarship).

Estimated compensation will be in the range of $250,000-$300,000 commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience. 
The successful candidate will be eligible for membership in the Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association through which clinical billings and benefits will be administered. The candidate will also be able to participate in the department’s group medical, dental and life insurance benefit plans.
