Internist with Diabetes Interest, Department of Medicine

The Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) is seeking an internist with an interest in Diabetes management to join our team. Opportunities at WRH abound, from the provision of inpatient services on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) and admitting services, to the provision of consultative services and a virtual urgent medicine clinic (UMC). With the recent expansion to a 3rd admitting team at each campus, and an Admissionist model that serves the Metropolitan campus emergency department, there are several exciting new opportunities in GIM. The endocrinology service is moving to a daytime consult service model, serving 2 busy hospital campuses. There will be opportunity for establishing a community diabetes practice and working with our Diabetes Education Center. The successful candidate will participate in the endocrine on-call coverage and work closely with our inpatient diabetes educators.

WRH is affiliated with the Schulich School of Medicine, Western University, and the full-time Windsor Campus gives the best of both worlds in achieving academic excellence combined with the busy pace of community practice. Opportunities for inpatient and outpatient care as well teaching and academic endeavours are endless in Windsor.

Applicant physicians must have licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and have, or must be eligible for, certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, in internal medicine.

About Windsor-Essex County

The Windsor-Essex area is ecologically rich with extensive parkland along with a southwest location that extends warm weather activities. Windsor offers the best of both worlds: the unique opportunities of a larger metropolitan area and the benefits of a smaller community. Just across the border from Detroit, residents have immediate access to arts, culture, sports, and entertainment one associates with “big city life,” while enjoying the relative tranquility and low costs of a smaller community.
