Clinic Details — East Kootenay Regional Hospital:

East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook is a 77 bed regional referral centre, serving a catchment area of approximately 82,000 people in the East Kootenays. The 4 floor facility offers 24/7 emergency services with 16 beds, a brand new state of the art 6 bed ICU, a full range of medical and surgical services including Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pathology, Psychiatry and Radiology and Urology.

Practice Details:

Fantastic opportunity for an Ob/Gyn to join a team of 3 physicians at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook. If you are passionate about your work, and are looking to practice in a welcoming community setting where the lifestyle opportunities are endless be it golf, mountain biking, hiking, rivers for fishing and other sports, and Fernie for skiing this is it!

You will have equal share of OR time in an excellent hospital with supportive specialties and share equally in on-call obligations. We have a neo-natal unit and dedicated pediatricians on site as well as urology, psychiatry, IM and surgery. Additional support in the region includes a group of obstetrical family physicians who do primary obstetrics as well as 4 mid-wives.

The remuneration for this position is a generous clinical contract. If interested, you have the option to join the private clinic with the other group members with shared overhead or start your own practice. Additionally, rural incentives apply to specialists /physicians in rural areas if they live and work in rural communities in BC and make a minimum income each month and provide service at least 9 months a year.

Qualifications:

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Doctorate in Medicine
  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License (Full) is mandatory
  • Obstetric experience
  • CMPA coverage mandatory

Additional Incentives:

  • Recruitment bonus: $20,000 (1.0 FTE)
