The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking Emergency Medicine trained physicians for Associate and Locum positions for Brampton Civic Hospital (BCH) and Peel Memorial Urgent Care Centre (PMC-UCC).

BCH and PMC-UCC are two high volume/high acuity centres caring for Adult and Paediatric patients. They are highly efficient and well supported by a multidisciplinary team including a collaborative, experienced emergency nursing team, orthopaedic technicians, medical lab assistants, physician navigators and scribes, Geriatric Emergency Medicine Nurses and Crisis Workers.  A full-service, high-acuity hospital, the ED is supported by a multitude of medical and surgical specialties.  This includes a cardiac catheterization lab and primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention service, interventional radiology, vascular and thoracic surgery and most medical subspecialties.  ED Physicians benefit from regularly scheduled simulation-based education and POCUS training.  The physician scheduling preferences are physician-centric and supported through an excellent scheduling system (MetricAid+) offering convenient and easy access to preference-based scheduling with expert support.  The successful candidate will be expected to work at both the BCH ED and UCC and will be supported by a department mentor. Physicians can expect a very competitive income opportunity with fee-for-service billing based on the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.

Osler is an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program.  It also provides clinical elective opportunities to Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.  The preferred candidate would have the option to participate in teaching and would be supported in obtaining an academic appointment with either the University of Toronto or McMaster University.  With the government's recent announcement of a new medical school In Brampton, Osler also looks forward to becoming an academic health centre in partnership with Ryerson University.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to join a collegial and supportive emergency department team in one of the fastest growing community hospitals.  Physicians must be licensed to practice in Ontario and hold a Fellowship in Emergency Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or a Certificate in Emergency Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.  Certification with the American Board of Emergency Medicine will also be considered.
