Our staff, physicians and volunteers serve patients and families with an honoured to care mindset and are focused on delivering an extraordinary patient experience to our communities.

We are currently seeking a Locum Staff Hematologist proficient in both malignant and benign hematology to cover an expected 12-month leave of absence starting in late August 2022. The successful candidate will be responsible for coverage of a partial malignant hematology practice with 1.0 AFP funding. Clinics are very well supported by nurse practitioners, pharmacists, drug navigator and allied health (social work, dieticians). Interdisciplinary care is shared with tertiary care facilities, in addition to regional cancer centers offering radiation. Multidisciplinary tumour boards are held biweekly in conjunction with Southlake Regional Care Centre.

The Locum will also be covering a partial benign hematology practice within the hospital clinic that is fully supported including secretaries and clinic nurses, with no overhead costs. Bone marrow biopsies and treatments such as IV iron, phlebotomies, etc are all coordinated in our Medical Day Unit.

Hematology on-call responsibilities are shared with another hematologist. On-call duties would include seeing new hematology referrals for patients admitted to hospital or the emergency department.
