Academic Nephrologist

The successful candidate will hold an MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Nephrology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The successful candidate will also have or be working towards a graduate degree or other advanced training relevant to their area of specialization.  The successful candidate will participate fully in the educational programs in Nephrology at St. Michael’s Hospital and the University of Toronto and collaborate in clinical research and quality improvement programs. This position will support the multidisciplinary kidney care clinic program at St. Michael’s Hospital, as well as ambulatory dialysis patient care and the renal transplant program. The successful candidate will report to the Head, Division of Nephrology at St. Michael’s Hospital. The Division currently consists of 11 full time nephrologists and prides itself on providing an excellent educational experience for core Internal medicine residents, nephrology trainees, and fellows. Academic interests and research encompass a number of diverse areas including acid/base and fluid and electrolyte disorders, acute kidney injury and critical care nephrology, peritoneal dialysis outcomes, quality issues related to medications in CKD, organ fibrosis, vascular biology, and cardiovascular outcomes in transplant recipients.

Estimated remuneration will be commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, clinical work and experience.
