The Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking Locum and Full Time Associate General Internists.

The selected candidate will work with a collegial interdisciplinary team providing consults in the emergency department and surgical floors on the inpatient hospitalist service, and provide medical care to the outpatients in the urgent medical clinic at Peel Memorial Centre.  Osler has a high acuity patient volume with many unique pathologies. The position requires excellent communication skills in English.  Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population.  Remuneration is stipend and fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.

Osler is an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program.  It also provides clinical elective opportunities to Canadian undergraduate and postgraduate trainees.  The preferred candidate would have the option to participate in teaching and seek an academic appointment with either the University of Toronto or McMaster University. With the government's recent announcement of a new medical school in Brampton, Osler also looks forward to becoming an academic health centre in partnership with the Toronto Metropolitan University.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills, an interest in clinical care, quality improvement, and medical education and have an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing community hospitals offering innovative research opportunities, access to cutting edge technology, and support from one of Ontario’s leading physician wellness programs.  The candidate must have a certificate of registration to practise from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have fellowship in General Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
