Family Physicians (2)

In partnership with Inner City Health Associates (ICHA) and Shepherd Village Retirement Home, Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is shaping the future of care by creating a new and innovative primary care service designed around the needs of Scarborough, one of Canada’s most vibrant and diverse communities. SHN, ICHA and Shepherd Village have developed a unique and exciting collaborative program to provide excellent primary care for vulnerable and complex client populations.

The program consists of two components that offer the successful candidates an invaluable opportunity to make an impact with equity across a mix of practice settings, populations and models of care with a community of colleagues driven to make a difference in their communities.  The SHN Primary Care Clinic will be located at the Shepherd Village Retirement Home to provide primary health services to the resident seniors, Shepherd Village Staff and underserved members of the surrounding community. The clinic is located next to busy Agincourt Mall.  Successful candidates will establish a comprehensive family medicine practice with access to a wide-range of subspecialists at SHN. Physicians in this new role will also provide care on a regular schedule of a number of 4-hour weekly blocks at ICHA primary care clinics which take place at shelter sites in Scarborough.  In this capacity, they will be supported by ICHA’s wide network of outreach specialists with virtual office administrative supports.

Highly competitive and consistent compensation through blended financing including both guaranteed hourly sessional rates of $181.86/hour ($727.44 per 4-hour block) at ICHA sites and fee-for-service with subsidized overhead and staffing support at Shepherd Village.

We are looking for 2 highly motivated and values-driven Family Medicine Physicians with an interest in providing primary care for seniors, children, adults, women, LGBT+ and vulnerable complex patients.  Priority will be given to candidates with a special interest in community and transitional primary care and/or population health, health equity and with a diversity focus. Additional opportunities to participate in resident teaching, research, and community activities can also be explored. Together, we are proud to be a teaching site for the University of Toronto and partner with a number of other universities and colleges, helping to train the next generation of health care professionals.

Successful candidates must be licensed, or eligible for a license, to practice in Ontario with accreditation in Family Medicine by The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).
