ENDOCRINOLOGIST – Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital Site, Ontario
The Department of Medicine at Halton Healthcare, Oakville Site, is seeking an Endocrinologist to provide ambulatory diabetes care to the community through the Halton Diabetes Program as well as inpatient endocrinology, and diabetes consultations. The successful candidate would join 3 current endocrinologists and would work collaboratively with diabetes educators. Diabetes clinic responsibility is 0.5 day/week, and balanced alongside a community endocrinology practice in these rapidly growing communities.
Sharing in internal medicine on-call coverage will be required. On-call frequency will be 1 to 2 shifts per month. Further participation in a daytime internal medicine consultation service is optional.
The Halton Diabetes Program is a regional program providing diabetes services to residents in the communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. The program provides education and care to adults with a diagnosis of type 1, type 2, prediabetes/IGT and gestational diabetes. The program serves over 5500 patients with over 15,000 visits.
Candidates must have an independent license or be eligible for independent license with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). They must have fellowship standing in the
Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Internal Medicine and have completed additional training in Endocrinology. Specific clinical experience working with diabetes in pregnancy patients is an asset.
