General Internal Medicine

The Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking Nocturnist Locums to provide evening and overnight coverage on weekends for the inpatient medicine units at Brampton Civic Hospital and Etobicoke General Hospital.  

The selected candidate will be responsible for providing unplanned medical care for admitted hospitalist medicine patients during a 12-hour shift from 6pm to 6am on Saturdays and Sundays. The role does not include CCRT or Code Blue coverage. The Nocturnist Locum will be required to commit to 1-2 shifts per month. Remuneration will be a combination of stipend and fee-for-service billing as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.

As an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program and a key clinical partner for the new School of Medicine with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), there is ample opportunity to participate in clinical education with medical students and residents.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills and an interest in clinical care.
