Academic Family Physicians - Hospitalists

The Queen’s Department of Family Medicine (DFM0 is seeking academic family physicians for the role of hospitalists in beautiful and historic Kingston, Ontario. Opportunities include one week per month, two weeks per month, half-time and full-time roles.

With a combination of academic and clinical experience, preferred candidates will have their clinical responsibilities based within DFM’s Hospital Medicine Division. The hospitalists will provide care within Providence Care Hospital (PCH) and the Transitional Care Centre.

The hospitalists will be members of the on-call group providing on-call coverage. Preferred candidates will also work closely with hospitalists within the Kingston Health Sciences Centre and the Stroke Transitional Unit, to ensure a smooth transition of patients to PCH.

Among their academic responsibilities, preferred candidates will undertake family medicine-based hospital medicine research. They will also assume educational duties that realize DFM’s SEAMO deliverables. These duties may include pursuing education and curriculum development opportunities for residents interested in hospitalist medicine, as well as undergraduate medical education opportunities.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario on or before the appointment start date. Preference will be given to applicants who have current, valid certification (or equivalent) in family medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
