In Alberta, Anesthesiologists typically earn approximately $50,000 above the Canadian average. Compensation is based on a fee for-service model with additional call stipends and a per diem for dedicated daytime obstetric coverage. Anesthesiology residents are encouraged to book a site visit or schedule an elective. Financial incentives such as paid travel arrangements and assistance with relocation available. Eligible applicants must:

  • Be certified or eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification;
  • Be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta;
  • Have completed, or be currently enrolled in an Anesthesiology residency program – preferably in Canada
  • A minimum of six months pre & post diploma experience
