Paediatric Hospitalist locum tenens– Markham Stouffville Hospital

Oak Valley Health, Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH), features newly renovated facilities including a new cancer clinic, breast health center, diagnostic imaging center, and medical/surgical units. There is a group of highly motivated and skilled professionals. We are also a training site for trainees from the University of Toronto. In addition, we have an active and expanding research program that supports open phase 3 clinical trials.

The Department of Paediatrics is looking for a Paediatric Hospitalist to join our team as locum tenens with the possibility of progressing to a part-time or full-time position.

The successful applicant will provide service on our inpatient unit, ambulatory clinics (including General Paediatrics Consultation Clinic, High Risk Newborn Clinic, and the potential to work in subspecialty clinics), receive consults from the community, Emergency Department, Labour and Delivery, and the Alongside Midwifery Unit, and provide on call coverage overnight to these locations and our 12 bed Level 2C NICU.

You will be part of a strong Department of Paediatrics helping to serve one of the fastest growing communities in the GTA.  There are opportunities for involvement in teaching, leadership, and creative professional activities, and the successful applicant may be eligible for a faculty appointment at the University of Toronto.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • An independent license to practice medicine in Ontario from the College of Physicians and Surgeon of Ontario  
  • Current certification in PALS and NRP
