Pediatricians

Our client, Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH), is a multi-faceted health services organization operating from two main sites, the Metropolitan Campus and the Ouellette Campus.  With 500 beds and an operating budget of over half a billion dollars, WRH is the regional provider of advanced care in areas that include complex trauma, renal dialysis, cardiac care, stroke and neurosurgery, intensive care, acute mental health, family birthing centre, neonatal intensive care, pediatric services, and regional cancer services.  WRH provides a broad range of medical and surgical services required to support these specialized areas for more than 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County.  Windsor Regional Hospital is seeking full-time or part-time Pediatricians.

The Department of Pediatrics at WRH houses both a Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU), which provides a comprehensive in-patient service as well as a range of ambulatory clinics.  The 16-bedded CTU provides acute care for children with a wide variety of general pediatric conditions, including admissions locally from the Emergency Department, transfers from other hospitals within the region, as well as transfers from the 22-bed Level 2C Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Physicians at WRH have the opportunity to educate and mentor residents from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, with professional staff members eligible to hold a University appointment.

Candidates must be certified, or be eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  CPSO pathway licensure is available for US Board Certified Physicians.

These full-time or part-time positions offer great flexibility and work/life balance.  A very attractive Alternate Funding Plan compensation model of $270,000 plus 40 – 50% of OHIP billings plus call stipend will be in place within the next 3 – 6 months.  Relocation funding and a $40,000 return of service incentive are also provided.

In addition, other enhanced practice opportunities available include private practice in the community with shared space opportunities available as well as urgent outpatient follow up clinic practice within the hospital in the well-staffed pediatric outpatient clinic.
