ACADEMIC ANAESTHESIOLOGIST

Department of Anesthesia, Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

The Department of Anesthesia at Sunnybrook HSC (SHSC), in conjunction with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is seeking academic anaesthesiologists.

SHSC is a tertiary care facility and provides care for a wide range of clinical specialties; strategic priorities include focused areas within the programs of: Heart and Stroke, Cancer, Trauma, and high risk pregnancies. The Department of Anesthesia is composed of >45 faculty and annual service volumes include: 12,000 general anaesthesia cases, 3200 regional anaesthesia cases, 4200 deliveries and a high risk tertiary referral centre, and an acute pain service for approximately 5000 patients.

Academic and scholarly contributions to the Department are mandatory.

The available positions include those with advanced training and/or experience in the following areas: cardiac anaesthesia, obstetrical anaesthesia, chronic pain, patient safety, quality improvement, point of care ultrasound, and informatics.
