Psychiatrist – Markham Stouffville Hospital

Oak Valley Health, Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH), features newly renovated facilities including a new cancer clinic, breast health center, diagnostic imaging center, and inpatient and outpatient facilities. There is a group of highly motivated and skilled professionals. We are also a training site for UofT trainees and Queen’s undergraduate medical training. In addition, we have an active expanding research program that supports open phase 3 clinical trials.

The Mental Health Program and the Department of Psychiatry offers a wide range of Mental Health services including adult inpatient and outpatient, child and adolescent, crisis, rapid access addition medicine and women’s wellness services. The Department is currently seeking Psychiatrists to join the existing group of 15 physicians. Work is expected to encompass a mix of inpatient and outpatient work. You will be part of a strong Department of Psychiatry helping to serve one of the fastest growing communities in the GTA.  There are opportunities for involvement in teaching and creative professional activities, and the successful applicant may be eligible for a faculty appointment at the University of Toronto and Queen’s University.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • An independent license to practice medicine in Ontario from the College of Physicians and Surgeon of Ontario. Restricted license applicants requiring supervision may be considered.   
  • Specialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Psychiatry
