ACUTE CARE ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON- LOCUM/TERM OAKVILLE TRAFALGAR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SITE

We are currently seeking a Locum Acute Care Orthopedic Surgeon to join our dynamic surgical team at our Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital site .

 Team of 10 full time Orthopedic Surgeons
 Shared access to regular operating room time, trauma OR time, and fracture clinic resources
 Expect a steady stream of referrals from the Emergency Department, Family Physicians and Specialists
 Affiliation and partnership with McMaster University since 2011 with an option to participate in surgical education at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
 Commitment to expanding the offering of acute care surgical services
 Shared care using a Hospitalist model for inpatient care
 Participate in the funded (HOCC) orthopedic surgery call group.
 Provide exemplary patient care and be a great support to ones colleagues.


What we’re looking for:


 Interest and experience in trauma and upper extremity surgery
 Must have certification or be eligible for certification in Orthopedic Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
 Have completed an accredited upper extremity fellowship
 Must have an independent license or be eligible for an independent license in the Province of Ontario
 Experience and / or knowledge of quality based procedure funding, provincial MSK initiative and Bundled Care is an asset
 Must fulfill the roles of the CanMEDS framework
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
 A strong track record of working collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary environment
 Proven leadership capability in working with multiple providers, key stakeholders and cross-functional teams
 Compassionate, reliable, self-directed professional who is able to work effectively and collaboratively with the team
