Career Opportunity in Anaesthesia

The Department of Anaesthesia is seeking Full Time and Part time Anaesthetists. 

The department provides services to a total of 25 ORs, 4 delivery suites, up to 8 endoscopy rooms, pre-assessment clinics, and the acute pain service. Future growth plans include the expansion of services both in and out of the OR suites and involvement in chronic pain management. We are recruiting anaesthesiologists to work across all three Osler sites. Subspecialty fellowship training is an additional asset but not a requirement. Successful candidates would be required to participate in the full range of community anaesthesia both in and out of the OR and participate in the obstetric and general call schedules.  The position requires excellent communication skills in English.  Additional languages are considered an asset as we serve a highly diverse population.  Remuneration is fee-for-service as set by the OHIP Schedule of Benefits and Fees.

As an affiliated academic community teaching site for the McMaster University Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine: Family Medicine program and a key clinical partner for the new School of Medicine with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), there is ample opportunity to participate in clinical education with medical students and residents.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to join one of the fastest growing community hospitals offering innovative research opportunities, access to cutting edge technology, and a supportive physician wellness programs.  The candidate must have a certificate of registration to practise from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and have fellowship in Anaesthesiology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.  Family Physicians with a certificate of added competence in Family Practice Anaesthesia from the College of Family Physicians of Canada may also be considered.
