Job Duties:
We are looking for a permanent full-time Medical Oncologist to join our collegial team working in the diverse city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan!
Cancer Agency medical oncologists provide care as members of teams, which include nurses, pharmacists, radiation therapists, oncologists, clinical associates, general practitioners in oncology, surgeons, social workers, volunteers, patient advisors, and palliative care staff. Cancer care is extended to surrounding communities through the Community Oncology Program of Saskatchewan. Oncologists are supported by clinical associates for inpatient and on-call responsibilities. Participation in clinical trials in collaboration with cooperative groups and industry is a major focus of activity for our oncologists. They are members of cooperative clinical trial groups as Alliance, NCIC CTG, and NRG.
A competitive compensation package is offered and will be commensurate with experience. The current salary range is $340,263 - 439,113 plus benefits.
Call Schedule Description:
- The call schedule will be established based on an equal rotational basis with other medical oncologists in the department(s).
- Compensation for on-call coverage is at the standard rate of payment prescribed by the Saskatchewan Ministry.
- We have a strong clinical associate group who provide first call coverage.
Our oncologists are eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Oncology, College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and are also involved in teaching medical students and Residents including at the undergraduate and graduate level.
Job Requirements:
The successful applicant will have obtained or be in the final stages of obtaining fellowship standing in Medical Oncology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have equivalent education, training and experience. They will be flexible in managing all of the medical oncology solid tumor sites and their clinic will be built upon site-specific guideline.
The successful candidate must also be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan, meet the requirements for membership in the medical staff of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (Regina) and hold valid CMPA coverage.
