Locum Position - Palliative Medicine

The Division of Palliative Medicine, Department of Medicine and Department of Family Medicine at Windsor Regional Hospital are seeking one full-time clinician with expertise in palliative medicine and possible interest in the Family Medicine - Hospitalist or General Internal medicine inpatient program for covering a parental leave at Windsor Regional Hospital. Clinical care includes inpatient consultation service, outpatient LTC consultations and on-call coverage. Opportunities at WRH abound, from the provision of inpatient services on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) and admitting services, to the provision of consultative services and a fully staffed urgent medicine clinic (UMC) within the bounds of the hospital. Expected start date for the position is July 1, 2023 for a minimum 4-month term ending November 2023 however there is flexibility with the start date based on availability.

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree or equivalent, have completed training in a recognized palliative medicine postgraduate training program, and have, or be eligible for, licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The successful applicant will foster excellence in Palliative Medicine and will have broad clinical interests related to palliative care.

Remuneration will be through fee-for-service billings as well as on-call weekend funding. For those candidates with CCFP (PC) qualifications, they could be funded through an FM-AFP. An interest in clinical teaching and program building is considered as asset. It is expected the successful applicant will apply for academic appointment with Schulich.
