Academic Movement Disorder Neurologist

The Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, University Health Network/Sinai Health System (UHN/SHS) at the University of Toronto is seeking a full-time, permanent Academic Neurologist with a focus on Tourette’s Syndrome and neurodevelopmental movement disorders to be located at Toronto Western Hospital. The successful applicant will also be supported by the Wolf Family Chair in Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry. The candidate must be eligible and have clinical experience for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with the position description of Clinician Investigator at the University of Toronto. The effective start date is at a mutually agreed upon date prior to Jan 2024. The successful candidate will hold a MD degree and should have, or be eligible for, certification in Neurology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). They will have specific additional training such as a Master’s degree or equivalent. Academic appointment will be within the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, University of Toronto. Research and clinical care will be focused on Tourette’s and rare movement disorders. Clinical care will be focused on providing expert medical services as a Staff Physician (Neurologist) in the Division of Neurology, KBI, Toronto Western Hospital, Toronto ON, seeing new referrals and follow-up of patients with Tourette’s and rare movement disorders in the ambulatory setting. In addition there will be an OnCall role, providing medical services as a Staff Physician (Neurologist) for acute neurological disorders. Teaching will be as per Division of Neurology requirements. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience, starting at $255,000 and based on fee for service. The Wolf Chair will provide $50,000 per year towards salary.
