Cardiologist

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB R3C 3R9), and The University of Manitoba, Department of Internal Medicine (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for full-time, permanent Cardiologist to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba.    Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, and consulting with other physicians as required, which job duties encompass 85% of the position.  

The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 15% of the position. Job duties are required in English.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Cardiology.  The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.   The successful applicant will have academic potential, including demonstration of effective interdisciplinary communication, a record of prior training in heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplant, as well as competency in general cardiology.  Experience is preferred.

Compensation:

Compensation is derived from fee-for-service income (approximately $339,000-$500,000 annual).  Specialty Physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.  Please contact [email protected]  for further information.
