Generalist Position - Obstetrician and Gynecologist

North York General Hospital is one of Canada’s leading community academic hospitals, affiliated with the University of Toronto. Our Obstetrics and Gynaecology group currently comprise of 19 physicians with diverse general practice with different specialty interests, including Maternal Fetal Medicine, Minimally Invasive and Complex Pelvic Gynaecologic Surgery, Early Pregnancy and Reproductive Care, Obstetrical Imaging and Colposcopy. We are a busy Level II obstetrical and surgical centre providing high quality care.

We are seeking a general Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join our team with the ability to work in a high volume and clinically demanding environment. Clinical areas of interests to the Department include low-risk obstetrics, menopause and vulvar health, colposcopy, and acute care gynaecology. Expressed interest or intent to complete training in these areas is highly desirable.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at North York General Hospital supports all levels of medical learners with each Department member holding faculty appointments at the University of Toronto.  Formal training or intent to complete training in the areas of medical education, continuing professional development, knowledge translation or like is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to join at the rank of assistant professor or higher.

Successful applicants must be licensed for independent practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, and hold specialist certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. They must hold appropriate malpractice insurance with the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

The successful candidate will join and contribute to a program of clinical excellence in obstetrics and gynecology as part of our family centred program.  The additional skills and training the candidate brings will further the academic mandate of the department.
