Brant Community Healthcare System (BCHS) is a 260-bed acute care facility boasting stable, state-of-the-art Programs within a team environment and with a dedicated staff that ensures high-level, patient-focused care. The organization comprises of two main hospital sites, the Brantford General Hospital and Willet Hospital. BCHS is the area’s acute care facility, providing all of Brantford and Brant County's specialty programs and services for our 120,000+ residents and boasts stable, state-of-the-art programs within a team environment that ensures high level patient-focused care. It is a regional centre for a variety of services including general and orthopedic surgery, ENT and urology.

The Department of Internal Medicine, at the Brant Community Healthcare System is currently recruiting for a full time Associate Gastroenterologist to join the growing department. The successful candidates will be joining the current group of 4 gastroenterologists providing both inpatient and outpatient care to the BCHS community.

This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. Joining the group will include moving into a shared community space with furniture and Accuro EMR provided. There will also be IBD and hepatology nursing support along with infusion clinic coverage opportunities. As a full time gastroenterologist this will also include hospital endoscopy time of 1.5 days per week. Current on-call requirements are 1 in 13 general internal medicine call (5:00PM to 7:00AM on weekdays, 7:00AM to 7:00AM on weekends) with plans to transition to GI only call within the next year. GI work is compensated by fee-for-service with additional HOCC compensation for hospital on-call.

Interested physicians must be certified in gastroenterology by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent (e.g. American Board), and be licensed, or be eligible for licensure, to practice medicine independently in the province of Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
