The LH surgical team is represented by General Surgery, Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Ophthalmology, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Urology.  We have access to Vascular Surgery from Peterborough Health Sciences Centre. Both Oshawa and Ajax-Pickering hospitals are supported by full ED, ICU, and Radiology/Interventional Radiology teams.  Opportunities for Adjunct Faculty appointments exist at both the University of Toronto and Queen’s University. There is a strong opportunity to be involved with education, if desires, as Lakeridge Health is site for many Queen’s university programs, and a unique MD – Family Medicine direct entry program starting in 2023.

Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery

Ajax-Pickering Hospital

The Division of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) is currently seeking a surgeon to join our team at our Ajax-Pickering Hospital.  The successful applicant will share 1:6 call, covering Lakeridge Health’s 4 acute, 1 chronic care, and 1 currently developing ambulatory care sites.  ED coverage is provided at Oshawa and Ajax-Pickering hospitals.  Patients from our other three hospitals are transported to one of the first two hospital’s EDs. The recruited surgeon will join another OHNS surgeon at Ajax site (six corporate wide).  Currently available OR time is 1 day every 2 weeks. There is significant opportunity to OR time via the Jerry Coughlan Health and Wellness Centre ambulatory surgical centre starting in 2024. The applicant will be expected to provide comprehensive general OHNS services. Fellowship training is not required.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure by the CPSO, and must have completed a recognized Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery residency program, with FRCSC certification.  This position will commence on July 1st, 2024.   Application closing date:  September 30, 2023.
