Humber River Hospital. Lighting New Ways In Healthcare
Humber River Hospital (HRH) is one of Canada’s largest acute care hospitals, fully digital, and serving a diverse catchment area of more than 850,000 people in the northwest Greater Toronto Area (GTA). HRH operates 722 acute inpatient beds with 3,400 staff, approximately 700 physicians, and over 1,000 volunteers. HRH currently includes the Wilson site, a 656-bed full service acute care facility that opened in 2015, and the Finch and Church sites, known as the "Reactivation Care Centres (RCC)". The RCCs represent a unique partnership among multiple hospitals in the GTA with a focus on high quality patient recovery. A 356-bed Long Term Care facility “Humber Meadows” is currently under construction at the Finch Avenue site.

Department and Program Overview
Humber River Health has a thriving Maternal and Child Program with a full-service obstetrics program servicing about 4300 deliveries annually, a state-of-the-art Level 2C NICU, inpatient Pediatric Program, Outpatient Clinics for Obstetrics and Pediatrics as well as a Pediatric Surgical Daycare. The interprofessional team includes Obstetrician, Midwife, Neonatologist, Pediatrician, Nursing, Lactation Consultant, Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Dietician, Child Life Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Respiratory Therapy and administrative expertise.
The Department of Pediatrics at HRH as a team of more than 20 pediatricians/neonatologists who provide high quality specialty integrated in patient and outpatient care. Our inpatient services are offered in our Level 2C NICU with 16 inpatient beds and our 12-bed pediatric unit. Our Pediatric Outpatient Area offer a variety of general pediatric consultations and subspecialty services through the following clinics: Allergy, Asthma, Audiology, Bilirubin, Cardiology, Feeding, GI, Neonatal Follow-up, Neurology, Nutrition, Occupational Therapy and Orthopedic.
Position Summary
HRH is seeking three (3) General Paediatricians, with demonstrated excellence in clinical care.The successful candidates will have strong skills in neonatal resuscitation and neonatal care. Your responsibilities will include in house on-call shifts, general paediatric clinic, NICU coverage and an interest in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will hold, or are expected to apply for an academic appointment in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Your support for medical learners is key to our strategic plan as an academic centre and our participation as a member of TAHSN.
The successful applicant must be a qualified medical practitioner that holds, or is eligible to hold, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Paediatrics and/or one of its specialties, and be a member of, or eligible for membership, with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario.
