Georgetown Hospital is seeking 2 FULL-TIME PEDIATRICIANS to join our pediatrics team

For the communities we serve, Georgetown Hospital provides compassionate, quality, community hospital care as part of an integrated system of Halton Healthcare. We foresee a significant expansion to Georgetown Hospital in the next decade. Georgetown is part of the Regional Municipality of Halton, located approximately 50 km west of Toronto, and serves the community of Georgetown, Acton, and surrounding areas offering an idyllic lifestyle and access to many large cities.

The Georgetown Women's and Children Program oversees low risk deliveries with a Level 1 nursery. The Emergency department at Georgetown Hospital sees over 8000 pediatric visits per year. The robust Post Emergency Pediatric Clinic run by the Pediatricians supports the ED and the community with approximately 1700 visits per year. Pediatricians on call are not expected to remain in house and provide support to both the OB and ED and collaborate with other Halton sites for any needed inpatient management. With significant recent and anticipated growth, expansion plans to include additional services such as Pediatric Endocrinology, Antenatal Consultations and Outpatient General Pediatrics are actively underway.

We are looking for candidates who are:

• Dynamic, collegial and interested in delivering care in community based environments which allows forprofessional autonomy with a strong support network; and
• Committed to providing equitable access with the highest quality and evidence based care.
• Certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics and must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario

About the position: The successful candidate will participate in the call schedule to provide consultation in general pediatrics and neonates. The majority of call shifts will take place in Georgetown with options to pick up calls at Milton District Hospital and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate may also accept medical students and pediatric residents from McMaster University.
