Position: Chief of Emergency Medicine

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Chief of Emergency Medicine to lead our busy community Emergency Department that provides urgent and emergent care services of over 20,000 visits/year. The ideal candidate will be an innovative leader with a proven track record of enhancing emergency care delivery, fostering a collaborative team culture, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety and quality improvement.

Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Strategy
  • Provide strategic direction for the Emergency Medicine Department, aligning with the hospital's mission and goals.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of emergency care services.q
  • Clinical Oversight
  • Oversee and ensure the delivery of high-quality emergency medical care to patients.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to establish and maintain clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Team Building and Development
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a skilled team of emergency medicine professionals.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional growth and satisfaction.
  • Quality Improvement:
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze department performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other department heads and hospital leadership to enhance patient focused, interdisciplinary care.
  • Foster relationships with community partners and emergency medical services.

Qualifications:

  • Medical Doctor (MD or Equivalent)
  • CCFP-EM or FRCPC
  • Strong clinical and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
