Position profile – The Division of Orthopedic Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Health Authority is actively recruiting a full time clinical Orthopedic Surgeon with at least one year of Fellowship training in Complex Adult Spine Surgery.
The position is based at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. This is the only Level 1 Trauma and Spine center for Northern Saskatchewan. There are currently two Orthopedic Surgeons and two Neurosurgeons (all Fellowship-trained) providing comprehensive Spine Surgery care to a population of over 700,000 people. The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the Divisions of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurosurgery. The individual will be required to provide excellence in patient care, teaching and research. Clinical or translational research interests are supported. The academic rank will be commensurate with expertise and training. The successful candidate will participate in undergraduate and postgraduate education and multidisciplinary research programs.

Additional locations of practice can include Saskatoon City Hospital and private surgical centers for third-party work (ex. WCB)
Qualifications/Requirements of the position – Candidates in consideration will hold Royal College certification in Orthopedic Surgery and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
