The Endocrinology group in Windsor, Ontario is inviting applications for a full-time Endocrinologist to join its team. The group currently has nine physicians - several of which are planning to retire or reduce their workload in the next few years.

Practicing endocrinology in Windsor comes with many professional opportunities. In addition to running a community office, the successful candidate will participate in the endocrine on-call coverage at Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan and Ouellette Campuses. This is a light, exclusively consulting service with no MRP requirement. There is no internal medicine coverage obligation. However, interested physicians can apply to become staff physicians for the Clinical Teaching Unit at the Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus.

Our group handles a large volume of patients with diabetes and works closely with the active Diabetes Education Center. An insulin pump clinic and Diabetes in Pregnancy clinic are also available. Some group members run weekly clinics at the Regional Bariatric and Assessment Center, part of the Ontario Bariatric Network.

Windsor Regional Hospital is affiliated with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University (Windsor Program) and faculty appointment is encouraged. This affiliation will provide the preferred candidate the opportunity to pursue scholarly activities. All members of the division of endocrinology in Windsor are adjunct clinical professors at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine, and teach second-year medical students in the Endocrinology and Metabolism module. Third and fourth-year medical students, family and internal medicine residents, along with endocrinology fellows, from the school’s London campus, rotate in our offices and spend time on-call.

Applicant Physicians must hold certification in Endocrinology and Metabolism by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent college/board, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.

About Windsor-Essex

The Windsor-Essex area is ecologically rich with extensive parkland along with a southwest location that extends warm weather activities such a golfing, gardening, and water sports.  Windsor offers the unique opportunities of a larger metropolitan area and the benefits of a smaller community. Living directly across the border from Detroit, Michigan places you on a cosmopolitan stage where arts, culture, big league sports, and entertainment are just moments away. Best of all, you can enjoy access to all of these big-city advantages while living in the relative tranquility (and low costs) of a much smaller, friendlier community.
